Vitamin Infusion Therapy FAQs
What is Intravenous Vitamin Drip Therapy?
Intravenous (IV) Nutritional Therapy delivers a powerful dose of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and other vital nutrients directly into the bloodstream for quick and safe 100% Absorption (compared to the 20% absorption through the digestive system) at high doses that would never be possible through oral supplements.
How does IV Vitamin Therapy work?
IV Vitamin Therapy allows us to detoxify, nourish and hydrate our cells from the inside out for dramatic, long-lasting and often instant results.
How long does IV Drip Therapy last?
After an IV infusion, the vitamins remain in your system and maintain your levels for 2-3 weeks because it is absorbed directly into your bloodstream and bypasses the GI tract. One IM (intramuscular) vitamin booster shot is equivalent to taking one week’s worth of oral vitamin supplements.
Who administers Infuzio’s IV Vitamin drips?
A Registered Nurse (RN) with SANC membership (South African Nursing Council) with specialised training by our doctor on IV drip administration will be looking after you from the moment you arrive at Infuzio to the time of drip completion. Customised drips are scripted by our consulting doctor and may be administered by this doctor as well.
What should I do to prepare for my IV Drip Infusion?
It is always wise to drink plenty of water. The more water you drink, the plumper your veins become and the easier it’ll be to locate your veins to administer and increase hydration and venous volume leading to the best results. Be sure to bring a good book or headphones with you as you sit and relax and enjoy the treatment.
Why are vitamins, minerals and antioxidants important?
Vitamins and minerals are considered essential nutrients and perform hundreds of roles in the body. They help strengthen up bones, heal wounds, and bolster your immune system. They also convert food into energy, and repair cellular damage. Vitamin deficiencies can contribute to a variety of acute and long-term ailments.
Antioxidants are an essential part of maintaining a healthy immune system, detoxifying your body and removing free radicals that can contribute to cellular damage. Antioxidants also play a role in energy production.
Just like vitamins, minerals help your body grow, develop, and stay healthy. The body uses minerals to perform many different functions — from building strong bones to transmitting nerve impulses. Some minerals are even used to make hormones or maintain a normal heartbeat.
Does IV Vitamin drips hurt?
Everyone varies on their fear of needles and we understand that. Most people barely feel the IV placement, and many don’t feel it at all. Our certified medical staff are highly experienced and thoroughly trained. We utilize a topical numbing agent and great care to make any discomfort barely noticeable.
What are the risks or side effects of IV Therapy?
IV therapy poses low risk for side effects. These could include irritation, inflammation, or bruising of the puncture site. More serious symptoms would include systemic reactions such as allergies but these are very rare despite its possibility of occurrence. You should always share with your provider any and all pertinent information regarding previous allergic reactions to medications or therapies in the past and/ or medications or supplements you are currently taking.
If you have any concerns please discuss them with us or your healthcare provider.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) FAQs
How does a treatment work?
Treatments in our chamber are one hour long, during which time you are welcome to use your laptop, relax, listen to music (using earphones) or read a book. You will experience slight pressure changes in your ears, like during air travel.
What is HBOT?
Environmental pollution and toxic overload can cause biofilm formations, or toxic mucus layers in our tissues and organs that could interfere with our body’s ability to successfully absorb nutrients including oxygen. Under these circumstances, the body’s biological functions are compromised, and the condition will lead to disease and earlier physical signs of aging.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a therapeutic use of oxygen in a pressurised hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber offering simple, non-invasive and painless treatment. Our hyperbaric oxygen chamber pressurises oxygen to enter the liquid part (plasma) of blood, the lymphatic system and cerebral spinal fluid. Through HBOT oxygen is able to travel deeper throughout the body and brain in areas where it was unable to reach before, allowing the body’s innate ability to heal itself to take place.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy helps to widen arteries and creates new routes for blood to flow while eliminating and removing harmful chemical from our tissues. HBOT therapy will increase blood flow and oxygen absorption, reduce pain and inflammation and increase healing after sports injuries or post-surgery.
Is HBOT medically-proven?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a proven, reliable medical treatment recognised by the American Medical Association (AMA). It has been used in the Deep-Sea Diving Industry for over 100 years and in the Medical Industry for over 300 years. Thousands of medical studies support its use. While its use is more widespread and medically accepted internationally, it’s popularity and acceptance continue to grow as world-class athletes, telebrities, physicians, medical support groups and the public become more aware of its amazing benefits.
How many sessions will be required?
Sessions are totally dependent on the reasons you are seeking oxygen therapy. Sessions required for post-injury recovery differ to that of beauty & wellness for example, and again to that of pre and post event athletic activity. Please chat to us and your physician and we will happily make a recommendation.
Packages have been tailored financially to offer larger discount per hour to accommodate multiple bookings.
Is HBOT safe for children?
Yes.
What happens if my young child is in need of HBOT treatment?
At Infuzio, we are a family-focused business and as such we understand that it is a very daunting experience for a child to be in the pressurised chamber without the support of a loving parent or guardian. Therefore when a child is in need of a treatment, we will fully support a parent or guardian sitting alongside them in the chamber at no additional cost.
This applies to minors under the age of 13.
What can I take into the HBOT chamber with me during my session?
We suggest that you wear cotton clothing in the chamber. No cosmetics, perfumes, hair preparations, deodorants, wigs or jewellery are allowed in the chamber. Patients are advised not to consume alcohol or carbonated drinks for four hours prior to treatment. Try to ensure that you consumed sufficient water and are well hydrated before your treatment.
Do I need to eat before a treatment?
Since food isn’t allowed inside the chamber, it’s a good idea to make sure you’ve had enough to eat beforehand. With a large amount of oxygen intake, its advisable to eat a snack to avoid any light headedness.
Accessories and valuables
Make sure you leave valuables at home so you don’t have to worry about keeping them safe when you arrive at the salon. If you wear contact lenses, bring your lens case with you to remove the lenses before the procedure. If you have prescription eyeglasses it’s better to wear those instead. Although you will be provided with a locker at the salon to keep your personable items, it’s better to keep your valuables at home for your own peace of mind.
What can I expect from the Infuzio HBOT Chamber?
Our multiplace chamber is the first of its kind to be imported into South Africa. Most options available at private salons at this stage are singular monoplace chambers. Our chamber can accommodate 4 guests in an “airplane” type seating configuration. This also combats any claustrophobia that could be experienced in a monoplace chamber.
Is the Infuzio HBOT Chamber safe & certified?
Our chamber is imported from Germany and has the following international certifications:
ISO 13485 — Medical devices — Quality Management Systems (QMS)
ISO 9001 — Internationally recognised Quality Management System (QMS) standard
CE Certification — Conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards
BS EN 14931:2006 — Pressure vessels for human occupancy (PVHO)
SEK standards (Japanese) — Antibacterial interior – internationally certified
